mise-en-scene elements
setting- they have used a studio to create a world that has strong diegesis as it seems real but its not.
Diegetic effect- It has a strong diegetic effect by the fact that there is a good combination of verisimilitude and diegesis to show how the world seems real but is yet fake. as the series doesn't feel like they have created their own placing using a green screen it gives a more realistic feel as if they are actually there.
the proxemics show that they are close friends as they seem close together and trust each other. the fact that the front character has her arms out whilst the rest huddle behind shows that she is trying to protect the group.
figure expression- the expression that these characters have on their face gives the impression they are scared or fearing something.
props- in the background we see the fairy lights hanging down with the writing on the wall in an unorganized manner giving the effect that she is unhinged. a normal person would have made their wall more tidy where as this character is shown to have just scribbled some letters onto the wall in no organized way and strung the lights up messily. it gives me the impression that she doesn't really care she just hurried this onto the wall. The costume this character wears is all baggy and this links with the props in the background of how she is chaotic and doesn't care.
Straight Outta Compton
the setting is in compton in the 80s.
